Some of The illegal Conch
Five French men are currently (April 10th, 2017) awaiting their hearing for illegal fishing* in the waters of Antigua and Barbuda. They were caught
(between 8th of April to 9th April, 2017)in a joint collaboration with the Antigua Coast Guard and The Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force.

A total amout of  One thousand, seven hundred and sixty three pounds (1763.3lbs with a market value of twelve thousand, eight hundred and twenty-four
Euros -€12,824- ) of conch was confiscated, one hundred pounds of fish and their two fishing vessels were also seized.

The condition at her Majesty State Prison in St. Johns is quite deplorable.  "The meals are meager" says an ex-convict,  "the most nutritious meal served at the prison is oats, as it contains milk."
The Prison
is also overcrowded, housing six inmates per cell. Is there going to be a cock-tail party?

"The confiscated seafood was photographed and weighed.  It is currently being sold at a reputable supermarket and proceeds will go to the fisheries department," a government source declared to Dominican Overseas News.

*Illegal fishing:  refers to fishing activities conducted by foreign vessels without permission in waters under the jurisdiction of another country, or which contravene its fisheries law and regulations in some other manner – for example, by disregarding fishing times or the existence of the country's protected areas.
