"Last year the feast was not successful however it was held again this year. "There was a  lack of participation of persons from the community.  This stemmed from the fear that it would have flopped," stated Ms Clayta a vendor at last night's street celebration of the feast of Saint Anthony,  the patron saint of things lost.

The village of Toucarie which is known as one of the premier fishing community in the north of the island had a crowd of Triple K (a local popular bouyon band) enthusiasts who seemed to have captured the rhythm to their heart.

"It's sad," stated one villager who wanted to remain anonymous, "because of the fear of "politics" in the community TouCarie could do better than that! We have done it in the past. Politics is crippling our community and as for the economy we just flat on our face so the best thing is to do nothing."

Everyone observed several indications of bad planning at the community festival, for instance, the absence of public convenience which motivated several persons to seek urgent release in the bushes and in darkened areas of the Scenic Toucarie Beach. One woman complained that her high heel got stuck in the sand whilst trying to urinate in someone's yard.
Another said, "Me?  I simply walked up the steep hill and took an exit into the bushes to let go my Mal kaka."

"With so much fanfare about the war on 'pit latrine" not one toilet could be found last night especially in the constituency of this ever boastful  Minister Reginald Austrie," one visitor to the festival pointed out. Meanwhile, one resident  said" I pray to Saint Anthony to send back our lost Allen Carbon to save us".
