Update on protest against the government in their attempt to make their illigal actions legal.

By Clyde Gregoire

May 23rd 2017|Roseau, Dominica -  Approximately 200 citizens could be seen trying to gain access to the house of parliament where the leading side of the house of assembly  plan to call and amend the corruption in the elections  bill to make it legal to bring in people from outside dominica to vote.
The demonstrators in their attempt to storm the parliament building were assaulted with  tear Gass being hurled  at them and police fired warning shots in the air. This did not deter the crowd from congregating outside the heavy metal barriers placed by the police and special service unit (SSU).  At one point the member for the Petite Savanne constituency Dr.Kenneth Darreaux  brandished a gun to the protesters teasing them which gained wide spread furry. The member for the Colihaut. Constituency Ms. Catherine Daniel dressed in a black skirt and dark grey tweed jacket  looked on and spat (kwashay) at the crowd and left.
Members of the demonstrators declared they are not moving however the parliament has since adjourned for lunch. People could be seen heading to the sight of the demonstration.
