Miguel cited slow -unbecoming assistance , differences with the Olympic association and poor sporting facilities and to include public pressure after an injury. Miguel switch has shaken the Antigua and Barbuda ministry of sports in antigua and barbuda. Sports Director Heather Samuel in an interview with SportsMax Zone panel said that she is lost for words as to the switch and that she do not know what specific issue led the sprinter to the switch. She however felt that a compromise could have been reached since the ministry did all it can to facilitate the sprinters wishes during his last showing at the Olympics in brazil.
Sporting experts feels that Miguel switch has far reaching complications for the future of sports in Antigua and Barbuda and the Caribbean. The Antigua and Barbuda public hit the airwaves to voice displeasure in the sprinter stance and feels that he betrayed them.
Miguel Francis was born in the volcanic ravished island montserrat and moved to Antigua when he was two years old with his parents.
