Before the introduction of Christianity, our ancestors who were brought to Dominica worshiped Demons. These deities are very generous. They give wealth abundantly, but there is an equilibrium which needs to be upheld. All demons need blood to keep them appeased. Feeding the deities are one part of our ancestral religion which has caused many controversies among outsiders.
Human sacrifice is well organized that is why we all can see that it is being done together. The radical truth here is that our society no longer embraces human sacrifice but we want to enjoy the luxury which is gifted from deities. We want state of the art bridges, new cars, motorbikes and big houses. Dominicans want everything freely and refuse to give something in return.
Though most Caribbean people who were born into Christianity will never accept the culture of human sacrifice and the worship of deities, this will not stop the practice. Our government will not stop the practice of Demon worship and human sacrifice because they believe that it brings blessings to the entire population, even those who do not believe.
The stereotype of Demon-worship is that it is bloodthirsty. This is very far from the truth. Sacrifices are very complex and require skills of divination. For example, the deity Eleggua has sacred colors which are red, white and black and requires human sacrifices in groups of threes.
However, there is no reason to panic. The Lords have already been appeased for this season.
