Marie Mitchelle Nomed is set free by the french courts. She was arrested on April 19th 2017 for sticking a knife into Jimmy Nejin her footballer boyfriend. Marie Mitchelle Nomed recieved massive support from the community of Petit Bourg outside of the court house in Pointe a Pitre. Hundreds of people were shouting her name, demanding her freedom.
On April 19th Jimmy Nejin was screaming at her while he had his hand around her throat Marie Mitchelle Nomed said. He was strangling her in the kitchen. She move her hand around her, and used the only instrument within her reach, which was a kitchen knife. In self-defence she stuck it into his chest. The impact of the knife caused his hand to loosen off from around her neck. She was then able to breathe again, as he took three steps back and fell onto the floor. The police who responded to the domestic violence call from the neighbours attempted rapid life saving procedures upon Nejin , but he died from a Cardiac arrest.
