Santo Domingo Civilians threaten to Hang Captured Haitians

Haitians waiting to be
Deported
Since the United Nations will be migrating all the Minustah troops from Haiti within six months, the Dominican Republic anticipate severe mass migration and have prepared to secure its borders.  Santo-Domingo Defense Minister Rubén Darío Paulino announced that troops guarding the 391 kilometer mountainous border separating Haiti and the Dominican Republic will be re-enforced. Trucks will be patrolling the area and uniformed soldiers trained in humanitarian aspects will be capturing any Haitians trying to sneak into the country.

Every crisis, natural disaster or pestilence which occurs in Haiti is immediately carried upon the shoulders of  the Dominican Republic as they are nearby so they are the first to respond. "Santo Domingo has done enough to help Haiti and Haitians without getting any recognition for it," says one Dominicana Hair Stylist, "We have built Universities, Hospitals and we give them work visas to be employed in our country. Santo Domingo's economy can hardly sustain its people, we can't support the population of another poor country."

Currently Haitians represent 87 percent of the 524,632 immigrants in Santo Domingo and only 38 percent of these Haitians own passports.
The people of Santo Domingo are actively taking responsibility in stabilizing their immigration problems and work collectively in extraditing any Haitians caught in public.
