August 7th, 2017 British Virgin Islands|
Hundreds of revelers were forced to put down their costumes for boots and shovels as the rain came tumbling down from about three o'clock in the afternoon Monday 7th, August 2017. The unexpected down-pour came at a time when the annual British Virgin Islands national festival street parade was about to take route. Pageant winners were seen running for shelter as well as the keenly awaiting onlookers.
Festival organizers postponed the parade which they hoped to merge it with the east end and Long street parade, however the weather does not permit as several tropical waves are set to pass this way this week. The islands are currently expecting flooding and some damage to vehicles and property. The on-going string of Tropical waves has been affecting the entire Leeward islands.
