Daniel Carbon: G-I Joe Chief

G-I Joe Chief
Daniel Carbon

Plat Cootla

The world watched on video, as Liam Pascal was brutally assaulted with a machete to his neck. He was also stabbed multiple times with two broken liquor bottles.

Jamaicans living in England, re-edited the video clip  and attached their reaction to it.  Someone even formatted it into a GIF moving image.  Somehow by the grace of God Mr Pascal escaped with his life, but to millions of people worldwide, he was a source of entertainment for the Easter weekend.  Was he a source of entertainment to you too Mr Commissioner Daniel Carbon?

Dominica Police: a bunch of G-I Joe Action Figurines

The Role of the Police Force is not only to protect and serve, but it extends to crime prevention.  When the law is against us, we feel the full extent of its wrath, therefore, when it should be enforced towards our interest why is it not, Mr Commissioner?  Is the Dominica Police force only a bunch of G-I Joe action figurines for the whimsical entertainment of the Prime Minister when he feels like intimidating the members of the opposition?  How quickly would the Police Force respond if Mr Pascal was to retaliate against his perpetrators?  If he was to  kill one of them or both, would he be arrested?  Sure he would, because death  is not the punishment for Grievous bodily harm, or is it Wounding with Intent, maybe it is attempted murder.  Which is the correct charge the couple from Pointe Michel should face, Mr Commissioner?  And why isn't that charge being implemented?

But she is Pregnant

There have been pregnant inmates at the stockfarm prison in the past.  This woman who stabbed Mr Pascal for the world to see would not have been the first.  There have been several cases of pregnant women from the Stockfarm Prison being admitted to the maternity ward at the Princess Margaret Hospital while a uniformed Police officer stood guard at their room.

A haven for Criminals

Violent criminals, now know exactly how much leeway the pseudo-laws in Dominica allows them.  This incident of the brutal assault on a descent man's life is not as isolated as it seems.  This is an eye-opener for many people who can buy a machete (cutlass) from Nassief's store.  There will be much more assaults from Plat Cootla going around, especially as the Dominica Police force finds this incident amusingly entertaining rather than punishable.
