The mother and her son who have been missing for five days have been found safe and sound in Saint-François. The woman was intercepted by the gendarmerie brigade.
The child had been discreetly placed by his mother at his grandmother's home in Pointe-à-pitre last weekend.
The mother was spotted in the early afternoon on Friday by the Gendarmerie of Saint-François before being placed in police custody. She reportedly said she slept on a boat and in a restaurant. A police procedure managed by the central police station is under way to determine the follow-up to this case.
