60 year old blames alcohol and cocaine for committing murder (Updated 04/04/2017)

The verdict came in at 7pm on April 4th, 2017 at the Assize court of Basseterre.  The General Attorney requested that Diedus Metellus spend
fifteen years at the Basseterre Prison. 
A two day trial at the Basseterre Assize Court will determine the fate of 60 year old Diedus Metellus. Mr Metellus claims that he was drunk and was earlier snorting cocaine,

the combination of drugs he said led him to lose control of his faculties on December 20 th, 2014, causing him to mortally wound Faustin Defrance of Sandy Ground, St. Martin.

Mr Faustin Defrance was considered a man of calm demeanor who had been a victim of several accidents in his life, however he did not survive the knife wound to the chest inflicted by Metellus.  He worked as a security guard at a Chinese establishment in french St Martin.
